I've taken four years of writing and literature courses, as well as a smattering of history courses that interested me. My SAT score of 2060 was the highest in my graduating class. In my college courses, there were many students that seemed simply unprepared for the rigorous coursework, especially in regards to their writing ability. This isn't the fault of the students so much as it is the fault of a public school system that doesn't adequately teach logical or creative essay writing. I would like to better prepare high school students for this task or help struggling college goers prepare better essays.
